A premier sprinter and one of the top point scorers for the Knights in track, Perryman was also a starter right off the bat for the field hockey team, which was 17 3 2 last year. This year, she is one the most valuable players after being switched from right back to center defender as the anchor of the defense.”She is extremely fast and the epitome of an athlete,” said North Andover coach Courtney Breen. “Defensively, she has an amazing presence. She was a huge part of our success last year and we’re relying on her a lot now. She could definitely play college field hockey if she wants.”As the daughter of a pro athlete, former New England Patriot Robert Perryman, Krista sets a high standard for herself and so far she has delivered. We found some time between games to go Around the Horn. You grew up in Haverhill when did you move to Danville and why did your family move to North Andover?”We moved to Danville when I was in the sixth grade until my sophomore year of high school. My mom was looking for the perfect house and she likes moving.”Was it tough on you to move in the middle of your high school career?”No, I like moving. I always like meeting new people and I still see my friends from Timberlane every weekend.”When did you start playing field hockey and what other sports do you play?”I started playing field hockey in the seventh grade and I was playing field hockey, basketball and running track, but then I switched to indoor track instead of basketball.”I understand that you don’t like your parents attending your sporting events why?”Last year, they weren’t allowed. I just didn’t want them there because I feel a lot of pressure, probably because of my dad. But it’s better now and my mom has been coming to games.”Do a lot of people know you’re the daughter of a former pro athlete, and do you mind when people ask you about it?”I think most everyone knows. I don’t mind talking about it, but I don’t bring it up. It makes me proud, but I don’t brag about it.”What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from your father?”Just to try your hardest no matter what.”Was your mother an athlete in high school?”She (Sonya) did volleyball and track growing up in Nebraska and played volleyball at Bentley.”What are your brothers (Robert Jr. and Jason) up to? Is either one playing sports?”Robert is at Trinity College and Jason is at the University of Bridgeport. Neither one plays a sport in college.”Considering your background, are you a Patriots fan and do you go to a lot of games?”I’m more a Celtics fan than a Patriots fan. My father gets (Patriots) tickets for almost every game, but I haven’t been since my sophomore year. It doesn’t interest me that much.”Do you have any athletic goals for your senior year?”Just to do really well in field hockey and I’d like to break the school record (12.2) in the 100 meters. I’ve done 12.4.”How have you done academically and what are your plans for college?”I get mostly As and Bs and I really want to go to UConn and study business. I like the campus and everything about it.”Obama fan or critic?ArticlesUPDATE: Many in Merrimack Valley to remain without power until late Friday night, National Grid saysUsed Apple Store owner evicted from Derry shopPolice: $70,000 worth of cocaine seized from man who took package from porch of Lawrence homeDerry mourns passing ofDon BallMan arrested in Lawrence drug investigationPolice: Loaded gun found in bed where 3 year old child sleeps in Lawrence homeUPDATE: National Grid rolls back earlier optimistic estimates on power restorationMan who doused woman, child in lighter fluid arrestedPowder found at scene of unattended death in AndoverSome in Merrimack Valley may have to wait until Sunday for power
